Johanka Vlkova
1961-2022
Born in Prague, Czech Republic, Lived & worked in Prague and London
Painting has been Johanka's passion since she was two years old. Painting was a getaway into another world where images appeared. Her passion was to paint these images bringing them into this world.
Her work was mainly with acrylics on canvas and pencil on paper. Johanka also experimented with 'rescuing' old furniture. All the pieces featured in her work were destined for the skip. With her work she breathed new life into them, paying gratitude to the trees that had given their life for these pieces to exist.
